Welcome to the Clonakilty branch of the Irish Red Cross

The Clonakilty Branch of the Irish Red Cross has at present 40 members..

The branch has two vehicles, an ambulance and a Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep.

It is a very active branch, with crews presenting most weekends for duties all over West Cork.
Our crews provide backup services on a regular basis for: Horse-racing events, point to points, shows, concerts, rallies and festivals.

Our crews are regularly called out to help with Search and Rescue operations throughout the county and our vehicles are part of the Major Emergency Plan for the county.

In-service training is provided on a regular basis, from Practical First Aid level to Emergency Medical technician. Our instructors are also involved in training members of the community in Basic Life Support and use of defibrillators.

The members meet on a monthly basis where reports are given, arrangements are made for forthcoming events, and where we discuss how best we can serve the needs of the community.
